Music Festivals
Chreece, Indianapolis’ DIY hip-hop festival, is making history in its 11th year by featuring its first women headliners for the 2026 event, scheduled for August 29. The festival will showcase over 70 local and national artists across eight venues, emphasizing inclusivity and community connection. A new addition this year is “The People’s Village,” a free, all-ages public area offering live performances, vendors, and family-friendly programming.
Art Exhibitions
The Harrison Center continues to be a cornerstone of the Indianapolis arts scene, hosting over 72 exhibitions annually in eight unique galleries. With more than 40 studio artists, the center showcases diverse talents and provides a platform for both emerging and established artists. Monthly gallery openings and community events make it a vibrant hub for art enthusiasts.
Annual Arts Fairs
Indianapolis is home to several renowned arts fairs that draw large crowds each year. The Penrod Arts Fair, known as “Indiana’s Nicest Day,” is celebrated for its extensive array of artists and cultural experiences. Similarly, the BUTTER Fine Art Fair has gained prominence for its commitment to equity, offering 100% of artwork proceeds directly to the artists. First Fridays
On the first Friday of each month, galleries, studios, and culturally-oriented businesses across Indianapolis celebrate the arts through coordinated events. ArtMix, in collaboration with the Harrison Center, opens its doors to the public, featuring gallery openings, new artwork for sale, and interactive art events in their studios. These evenings provide a regular opportunity for the community to engage with local artists and their work.
